Comprehensive Bed Bug Control For Your DMV Area Home Or Business
A bed bug infestation can be a major problem for your Northern Virginia home or business. Not only do bed bugs bite, but they also reproduce quickly, making even a small infestation grow to nearly out of control proportions. Bed bugs are notoriously difficult to eliminate, so to get rid of an infestation quickly and thoroughly, you need the knowledge of a trained pest control company with the skill and experience to complete the job effectively.
Matar Termite & Pest Control has nearly 30 years of experience solving the DMV area's bed bug problems, and we've developed a comprehensive bed bug control system to eliminate your bed bug infestation entirely.
Our Bed Bug Control Offerings
Inspection
We must perform a detailed inspection before we can provide treatment. One of our certified and trained technicians will visit your home or business to conduct an assessment of all possible harborage areas. These include:
- In and around bedrooms or sleeping areas
- Cracks and crevices along baseboards and wallboards
- Behind beds
- Under wallpaper
- In the seams of mattresses and linens
- In the bed springs
- Furniture
- Dressers
- Wallboards
- Wood paneling
- Doors and window frames
- Behind Pictures
- Around the edges of the carpet
- Between the floorboards
- In rooms near host sleeping areas
- Inside shoes, closets, and all baseboards
- All adjacent rooms to an infested area (Above, below, and adjacent)
- Camping and sleeping equipment
- Outdoor animal sheds and coops
During the inspection, your technician will also look for blood speckles in mattresses and any clutter that might hinder the inspection or the treatments. We'll collect a specimen to verify the bed bug identification and infestation. We'll then submit a report to you with our findings, recommendations, and the types of treatments we offer.
We can also use specially trained K9s that can detect bed bugs. This service is a minimally disruptive option to avoid interfering with your day-to-day activities.
Treatment
For bed bug control to be effective, mutual cooperation is imperative. The first step in the treatment process is sanitation and clearing clutter. We'll provide you with a prep list that explains everything you are responsible for prior to our treatment.
We offer a number of treatment options and will make recommendations on the most effective methods for your particular situation after our inspection. These methods include:
- Heat treatments
- Steam treatments
- Non-chemical treatments with dehydration agents
- Baits and monitoring devices
- Vacuuming
- Non-residual alcohol-based products to kill live bed bugs
- Electrical socket treatments
Our heat treatments heat the affected rooms to around 135 degrees Fahrenheit and hold that temperature for several hours in order to eliminate bed bugs in all stages of development. This process can take anywhere from six to ten hours, depending on the building's size, and it works in just one treatment.
Our conventional treatments use eco-friendly, non-residual products to treat the affected areas. This process typically uses several treatment methods in conjunction with each other to provide the best results. In most cases, three treatments spaced out every two weeks are necessary to break up life cycles and fully eliminate the infestation.
